Monitoring was carried out as part of the Dunleer Sewerage Scheme. Little of archaeological significance was uncovered. No indication of the enclosure, which is solely retained in the street pattern, was evident in monitoring. A small portion of pipe-trench within the enclosure indicated 18th-century garden soil deposits in the outer area of the enclosure and an undated clay floor in the inner ward. Post-medieval metalled and cobbled surfaces and drains, associated with the railway and the Black Mill (AD 1845), were recorded.
