Monitoring was conducted before a proposed commercial extension at Rogers Garage, 87–88 Park Street, Dundalk, Co. Louth, in March 1999, within an area of archaeological potential as identified by the Urban Archaeological Survey. The existing buildings on the site were demolished, and their shallow foundations were removed by machine. These overlay a mid-brown loam, which contained red brick and mortar fragments. A total of 0.3m of this material was removed to provide an adequate level for construction. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed, and no finds were recovered. The development had no archaeological implications.
