A pit discovered during monitoring of topsoil-stripping along the route of the Dunleer–Dundalk Bypass Motorway was excavated on 25 May 1999. It was an isolated circular pit, 1.5m in diameter, filled with charcoal and burnt stone. No finds were recovered.
