Testing was undertaken at a proposed development site on 7 August 1999. The site is adjacent to a church and graveyard (SMR 27:3) and on the northern bank of the River Inny. There were two mill buildings on the site, consisting of an extant cornmill and associated kiln/store. These buildings were the subject of an industrial archaeological/ architectural survey undertaken by Colin Rynne.
Three trenches were mechanically excavated within the confines of the development site. No features, structures or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered, although the backfilled remains of a mill-race, associated with the extant mill, were uncovered.
It was recommended that no further archaeological involvement was required at the site.
