Monitoring took place at Coláiste Iosaef at the northern end of Kilmallock in March and April 1999, following the demolition of the old eastern wing of the building and during the construction of a new extension. A convent was built on the site in 1933, and it is c. 40m north-east of the line of the north-eastern corner of the town wall and c. 215m north-west of the well-preserved ruins of the Dominican abbey.
No evidence of archaeological habitation or activity was revealed during groundwork on the site, with the exception of two small pits of unknown date uncovered in one of the foundation trenches.
