Holes were cut in the floor of the roofed chancel at St Mary's Church, Gowran, to take underfloor heating and foundations for relocated tombs. The roofs of two burial vaults (early 19th century) were exposed on the north side; elsewhere excavations to c. 0.4m did not reach the base of demolition material associated with rebuilding the chancel in the early 19th century.
