An archaeological evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site to the rear of New Row/South Main Street, Naas, on 17 July 1999. The work was undertaken in compliance with a request from the NMHPS, DĂșchas The Heritage Service, following a pre-planning enquiry. The site is within the boundaries of the urban area of archaeological potential for Naas and is in the general environs of the presumed line of the town wall.
Ten trial-trenches were mechanically excavated within the confines of the development site. No features or structures of archaeological interest were uncovered during the testing.
