Before Kildare County Council's realignment of the N9 between Moone, Ballitore and Crookstown, an underwater inspection and licensed metal-detector survey of the Greese and Bothoge rivers took place at five locations between 12 and 16 April, where works will impinge on the riverbanks.
A timber feature was observed protruding into the riverbed upstream and away from one work site in Timolin townland. No further items of archaeological interest were observed.
