An underwater inspection and licensed metal-detector survey of the River Greese was carried out on 24 August, on behalf of Margaret Gowen & Co. Ltd, at the location where Bord Gáis Éireann's Ballyvass to Athy Pipeline will cross the river in Kilkea Lower, Co. Kildare. This did not reveal any objects or features of archaeological interest. The survey area extended from c. 15m upstream of the proposed crossing-point to a point c. 40m downstream of that point.
