Topsoil-stripping during monitoring of a Bord Gáis pipeline initially revealed a burnt spread at the junction of the topsoil and the natural subsoil. However, surface clearance of it showed indistinct patches of burnt soil over an area of 2m2 that were up to 10mm deep. There was no distinct cut or deposition. Nothing of an artefactual nature was recovered.
