Monitoring of groundworks associated with the upgrading of services—Ammunition Depot, Curragh Camp—was undertaken in compliance with recommendations from Dúchas The Heritage Service. The work was carried out at various dates from April to September 1999. The development area is in the environs of a number of archaeological sites and was tested in 1997 (Excavations 1997, 92–3).
No features, deposits or structures of archaeological or historical interest were uncovered during the work. The only find of significance was a length of chain-link (copper alloy), which may be part of a ceremonial lanyard or horse decoration of 19th/early 20th-century date.
