Archaeological monitoring took place here over several weeks in December 1999. While foundations that related to the two 18th-century houses that had been demolished were revealed, nothing of any archaeological interest was recovered. A considerable amount of the site, which fronted onto Main Street, Celbridge, and backed onto the River Liffey, was very disturbed, owing to the erection of outhouses and a garage on the site in modern times.
