Monitoring of all ground disturbance aspects of the first phase of a housing development in the townland of Knocknacuig, to the west of Tralee town, was undertaken to comply with a planning condition. The site is to the east of Lohercannan hillfort, SMR 29:112, and to the north of an enclosure, SMR 29:117. Ground disturbance aspects were monitored in the area of Courtyard A, House Sites 1-14, and Courtyard B, House Sites 1–14.
A flint scraper was recovered from the topsoil. Four areas of stratigraphy were investigated. They were geological in nature. There are a number of limestone sinkholes in the area of the site.
