Monitoring of ground disturbance aspects of major refurbishment work at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel, Killarney, took place during October–December 1999. The hotel grounds are across the road from the extant remains of a major ecclesiastical site, which is today a graveyard, still in use, with the remains of a 12th-century Romanesque church and a round tower, as well as other features.
It was clear that major landscaping had taken place when the hotel was first built, and the site had been extensively cleared and the gardens laid out. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted during the monitoring.
