An assessment was carried out at the site of a proposed development at St Francis's Hospice, Raheny, Dublin 5. A planning application was made to Dublin Corporation by St Francis's Hospice to develop lands to the east of the existing hospice building. The site of a possible windmill is recorded in the SMR and in the historical sources, in the vicinity of the proposed development.

The assessment was based on the excavation of five test-trenches opened on 10 December 1999 by mechanical digger. No archaeological deposits were identified.
