Monitoring was undertaken here as a sewerage pipe was laid from an area of previous archaeological testing to an area previously monitored. A 28m north-south trench, 0.6m wide, was cut to an average depth of 1.6m. Two walls (F1 and F2) and two drains were identified. F2 consisted of undressed mortared stone and red brick and extended intermittently for c. 9m. The nature and position of F2 suggest that it may represent the west face of Meeting House Lane. The old street frontage is uneven, as evidenced on the 1838 plan by Drew, which is mirrored in the unevenness of recovery in the west section face of the service trench. It is probable that the walls identified represent construction along the frontage of that area in the 18th/19th century.
