The records of Dublin Corporation's City Archaeologist showed that no previous investigations had taken place on Marrowbone Lane, and as this was a large Corporation site it was decided to have an assessment carried out.
Three test-trenches excavated across the site exposed the concrete foundations of the recently demolished buildings and no materials of archaeological significance.
