Monitoring during construction of the Centenary Service Station during January 1999, following the excavation of the site in 1998 (see Excavations 1998, 36–7), revealed a single adult inhumation burial along the eastern perimeter of the site. The burial, from Phase 6, was found c. 1m to the south of the northern site perimeter and lay in a supine position with head to the west and arms by its sides. No clear grave-cut could be discerned, and, while no finds were associated with the interment, a small quantity of disarticulated human bone was recovered from directly above the burial. The burial was removed for analysis and has been added to the corpus of 1153 recovered from the 1998 excavation. No further burials or finds were recovered during the remaining site works.
