This site, on the east slope of Dunmore Mountain, was identified during topsoil-stripping for the Aquarius Pipeline. It appeared as a subrectangular slot measuring c. 8m x 6m, with corner post-holes and four internal post-holes, all of which were subsoil-cut. Further post-holes were noted outside the feature, possibly representing an associated structure or structures. Pottery sherds recovered from the area of one of the post-holes suggest a Neolithic date for the feature, and it has been interpreted as the remains of a Neolithic house.
As the site is not under threat from the development, it was decided that no excavation would take place, and the site will be preserved in situ.
