Testing was conducted on the site of a series of anomalous earthworks before the Clar-Barnesmore road realignment (see No. 134, Excavations 1999). The site lay on the north-west side of the Barnesmore Valley, north of the present N15, to the rear of Biddy O'Barnes's public house. It consisted of two low linear earthen banks at right angles to one another and a shallow ditch feature aligned roughly north-south.
Testing revealed a modern field ditch and related field clearance and spoil. No archaeological features of significance were observed. The natural, blue/grey subsoil was sealed by a yellowish-brown, silty clay, which was in turn sealed by a grey/brown, sandy gravel with frequent small stone and pebble inclusions.
