A 25-acre site in Knockanenagark and Tullig More townlands was acquired by Ducon Concrete Ltd of Kanturk, Co. Cork, for the extraction of sand and gravel. There are no known monuments on the land, but it is in an area containing many recorded archaeological sites, including sites within both Knockanenagark and Tullig More townlands, just south of the site itself.
Work was monitored over four weeks in April and May 1999. The topsoil was removed using a bulldozer. No archaeological features were observed during the work.
