Pre-development testing in the form of trial-trenching was carried out before the proposed construction of a residential dwelling. The development site is on a terrace on the west side of Mill Hill and is within the probable line of the medieval town wall.
Two trenches were opened across the development area, and no archaeological features or finds were uncovered.
