The proposed development at Cloonaherna, Craggaunowen, Co. Clare, adjacent to a stone-built enclosure, was subject to an archaeological condition in the planning permission. Monitoring was carried out on 8 April 1999.
The development consisted of the topsoil clearance for a dwelling-house, driveway, septic tank and percolation area. The digging of foundation trenches for the house was also monitored.
No archaeological material was discovered, disturbed or destroyed during this development.
