An archaeological assessment was undertaken at Ballyduffbeg townland, near Inagh, as part of an environmental impact assessment for a proposed landfill site to be undertaken by Clare County Council. The assessment followed a report to Dúchas, by a local person, of a children's burial-ground on the site.
The reported site was a small clearing within a Coillte forest, containing a single upright boulder. The area was exhaustively archaeologically tested. No archaeological soils or deposits were uncovered in the assessment.
