Monitoring was carried out when a trench was dug along the pavement on the north side of Dominic Street. For most of its length the ground had been extensively disturbed by pipes and cables running out from the houses.

At the eastern end of the trench, near the junction with Mary Street, the trench ran southwards to meet an existing trench further out in the road. About 1.5m out from the kerb an organic deposit was found at a depth of 1m. No artefacts were found in this layer, but the presence of certain seed and nut remains, including cultivated flax seeds and bolls, suggested that it was composed of occupation debris. The date of this deposit is not known.
