Three test-trenches and three test-pits were excavated to test an area east of a possible roadway that appears to run southwards from the corner of the remains of a castle. The landowner intended to build a dwelling-house in the south-east corner of the field. The area tested was 30–40m east of the roadway. Nothing of archaeological interest was observed.
