The owner of the land on which these small, low-lying stone circles stood had ploughed over the site. The area was examined to determine the level of disturbance caused and to establish the extent of the features.

Eight trenches were opened: through the western circle and alignment; across a pair of linked circles in the east; and further upslope (north) to investigate the potential for other settings. The known settings were found to be intact, with the possible remains of a cairn uncovered within the western circle and the possible remains of a further three cairns found within the linked circles in the east. The exploratory trenches showed no indications of additional features, but the area had been deep-ploughed. Signs of further features were identified downslope from (south of) the circles but were not explored.
