The site lay in Lissatunny townland, c. 1 mile south-east of Nenagh town, Co. Tipperary, and east of the Ballynaclogh Road, and was on the Nenagh Bypass. The site consisted of a roughly circular arrangement of six to eight charcoal-rich posts/pits, with a number of associated fire spots. The approximate dimensions of this circular area was 6m x 7m.
Approximately 24m east of this area a short, linear feature was also uncovered. This feature consisted of a charcoal and burnt clay spread, c. 6m long and 0.2m wide. A cursory examination of the surface of this feature revealed sherds of burnt, prehistoric pottery and a small fragment of curved, sheet bronze.
This site was severely damaged by construction work before the excavation commenced.
