Archaeological assessment took place at a proposed residential development at Newtown, Trim, Co. Meath. The site lies within an area of archaeological importance incorporating the suggested area of a medieval borough and the lands surrounding the former episcopal seat of the Liberty of Meath, which comprised the church of SS Peter and Paul and an Augustinian priory.

Four long trenches were excavated and uncovered sod, ploughsoil and natural gravel and yellow boulder clay. No archaeological features or objects were recovered.
