Testing was carried out at Roughgrange, Donore, Co. Meath, in advance of a proposed extension to an existing dwelling. The site lies within the Boyne Valley complex of monuments. Five trenches were excavated across the extension and effluent treatment units. Boulder clay was uncovered under sod and topsoil at between 0.14m and 1.3m without encountering any archaeological features.
