Pre-development testing was undertaken on the site of a proposed development in Shrule, Co. Mayo, in November 1998. Part of the proposed development site lies within the designated area of a church.
The test-trench measured 96m x 2m. In general the sod/topsoil lay directly above the boulder clay. No human remains nor any other archaeological features were recovered.
