Archaeological assessment was undertaken at the site of a proposed commercial development at Louth village, Co. Louth. The site lies within the area of archaeological importance occupied by the Early Christian monastery and the medieval borough. Six trenches were excavated along the footprint of the building. Boulder clay occurred under sod and modern sandy clay at a depth of 0.5m. No archaeological features or objects were recovered.
