Archaeological assessment was undertaken at the site of a proposed commercial/residential development at Louth village, Co. Louth. The site lies within the area of archaeological importance occupied by the Early Christian monastery and the medieval borough. Two trenches were excavated along the footprint of the proposed house. Boulder clay occurred under sod at a depth of 0.3–0.4m. No archaeological features or objects were recovered.
