The development site (of a single dwelling) fronted onto the Mill Road, with the site of a mill-race, associated with an 18th-century mill, extending through the rear. Test-trenching, however, revealed that the site had been scarped at the Mill Road side and infilled to a depth of c. 2m, sealing the mill-race beneath. Consequently no archaeological features were found.
