An extension was being built onto an existing house within the boundaries of the medieval settlement of Castletown. The site had been part of the garden at its northern end, and at the southern side the topsoil and part of the subsoil had already been scarped to level the site for the existing house and associated yard.
Nothing of archaeological interest was noted during the digging of the foundation trenches for the extension and the soil removal for the new driveway.
