A site at Clonmore, Dunleer, Co. Louth, was excavated in advance of a proposed residential development. The site lies close to that of a monastery founded in AD 551 and of a tower-house. Four trenches were excavated, one east-west and three north-south. No archaeological features or objects were recovered, with the natural boulder clay lying between 0.4m and 0.7m below topsoil.
