This site was identified during the rewalking of the route of the Limerick Southern Ring Road. It consisted of an almost perfectly circular mound, with no extant evidence of any enclosing feature.

One trench was opened by hand, measuring 1m by 5m, orientated east-west. The investigation concluded that there was no archaeological activity in the centre of the mound and no enclosing element around its perimeter. Several sherds of modern pottery and a modern horseshoe were retrieved during the digging.
