Funded by Limerick County Council, this work involved the investigation of a number of possible sites in advance of the Limerick Southern Ring Road. This site was first identified by Celie O Rahilly during the course of fieldwork for the archaeological impact assessment for the road. She identified the feature as an enclosure with a possible associated bank and recommended testing to establish the archaeological merit of the site.

Two test-trenches were manually excavated. No features or artefacts of archaeological significance were encountered.
