Archaeological assessment took place at the site of a proposed commercial development at Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim. The town was a former post-medieval borough. Three trenches were excavated on the site in the south of the town. Large quantities of modern rubble were excavated to depths of 3m, below which was the natural peaty soil of the riverbank. No archaeological features or objects were recovered.
