A site assessment consisting of one test-trench was carried out on 7 February 1998. The trench was dug to the rear of the building where it was proposed to build an extension. It was opened to the depth of the foundation trenches, 0.6m. Loose rubble fill was noted to 0.3m; brown mud interspersed with brick, bone and charcoal was noted to a depth of 0.6m. No finds or features of archaeological significance were noted.
