An archaeological evaluation was carried out at a site at Main Street, Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny, on 24 August 1998 in response to an archaeological condition within the grant of planning for the construction of a two-storey dwelling-house on the site.
The development site consists of a narrow property fronting onto Main Street and backing onto the River Duiske and lies to the north of the Abbey and on the periphery of the zone of archaeological potential as defined by the Urban Archaeological Survey.
Four test-trenches were inserted in the area of greatest impact from the development. No archaeological deposits or artefacts were identified during the investigation, and it was therefore decided that no further archaeological involvement was required.
