The area for proposed redevelopment lay within the zone of archaeological potential for the village of Dungarvan, Co. Kilkenny. Archaeological assessment in the form of test-trenches was requested as a planning condition for a redevelopment of a dwelling-house adjacent to the street frontage. Twelve trenches were opened. There were no indications of archaeological material within the designated areas.
