An archaeological assessment involving four mechanically excavated test-trenches took place on this site. The development was within Georgian Dublin, on the site of previously demolished Georgian houses. The rubble from the demolition of these houses composed the main deposit on the site. The material was backfilled into the remains of the contemporary cellars, sitting directly below the tarmac surface.
Boulder clay was revealed below the level of the backfilled cellars. No archaeological deposits were uncovered cutting this material.
No archaeological deposits or finds earlier than the demolished remains of 18th- and 19th-century buildings were identified on site.
