From 17 August to 4 September 1998 monitoring of groundworks at Firhouse, at Ticknock and at College Road took place. One archaeological pit feature, in the same field as ‘The Brehon’s Chair’ megalithic tomb, Taylor’s Grange, was excavated, producing a sherd of coarseware pottery. The fill was burnt, and it is possible that some burning did occur within the pit. Two soil samples are to be analysed for possible seed remains.
