The proposed private housing development lay to the north-west of the village in a heavily overgrown rectangular field that sloped gently from west to east. The extant hedge defining the western limit is the townland boundary. Only the eastern end of the field was within the zone of archaeological potential.
A continuous cutting was made east-west with a north-south dog-leg, 5m long and 45.5m from the eastern end. No finds, features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified.
