Three areas, identified by a geophysical survey as of possible interest, were excavated in this area before construction of the Ballycasey–Dromoland Bypass. The site is described as a field system in the SMR.
Area 1 did not produce any features. Among the finds were a musket ball and a possible copper-alloy stick-pin. Area 2 did not produce any archaeological features. Area 3 revealed a low drystone wall.
Further investigation was recommended.
