Site 2 in Drumbo townland was uncovered during monitoring of road-stripping for the Cavan Bypass. The roughly oval area of burnt sandstone in a charcoal-rich soil measured 6.6m north-south and 11.6m east-west and had been levelled by ploughing. The mound had been partially truncated by field drains. The deposit was up to 0.17m deep.
A subrectangular trough dug into the natural soil was uncovered below the mound. It had three wooden planks lining the base. A circular area of burning on the natural soil was interpreted as a probable pyre. No artefacts were recovered. A dendrochronological date of 959+9 BC (QUB) was obtained for the timber in the trough.
