The site was discovered during monitoring of topsoil removal for the Arklow bypass. It consisted of a horseshoe-shaped spread of burnt stones and charcoal 5–6m in diameter. The spread was fully excavated but no trace of a hearth or trough was revealed. A flint flake was found on the surface of the burnt spread. No mound was visible prior to topsoil removal; the site was located at the bottom of a small valley beside a stream.
