It was proposed to build an extension to Irish Pride Bakeries. Archaeological testing was undertaken on foot of the planning conditions. The extension will stand to within 10m of the marked site of a nunnery and to within 30m of the stone-walled graveyard enclosure traditionally known as the site of St Munna’s Church.

When the bakery (then known as Williams’ Bakery) was constructed about ten years ago, the surrounding ground was greatly reduced. If any archaeological material ever existed where the proposed extension is to be built, it was removed by the site clearance for the original building. This was verified by the testing.
