Excavation of four trenches in gardens off Ball Alley Lane, part of a carpark development for Nenagh UDC, revealed no features of archaeological significance. One of the trenches straddled the supposed line of the medieval town wall, but no trace of a wall, bank or ditch was found. It is suggested that the line for the medieval town wall has been drawn too far west in this part of town.
